Password Invalid

Switching Accounts

Y’all…this was soooooo much harder than I thought it would be. In case you didn’t know we opened a joint account, which you can read about here. I was all excited, and I knew it was gonna be some work, but like goddamn.

It was hard to log into the account. It was hard to get the account to link to other accounts. It is hard to figure out what auto payments are planned for when. Until I know that, I can’t close the old account.

I was like, today’s the day. We are gonna grit our teeth and plow through all of this. Well, let’s just say I did as much as I could.

Getting Into the New Acct

So we opened a credit union account right? Because we are hoping for a better home loan rate. We knew going in, the technology compared to a big bank, was not going to be as smooth.

Not smooth? That shit was pins through sandpaper. Not only was it rough, it was painful. They gave us this nice folder with all of our login info and routing #s etc. To be fair. To be faaaaair! Apparently we were supposed to login with a temporary password within a week…which we didn’t do.

So I downloaded the app, typed in the info they gave us, and they said the password was invalid. So I went to the website instead…password invalid. So I gave up got drunk, and called the number on the card today. Could change my pin, couldn’t change my password. 😡 Called the number I found on the website, the woman who answered was super friendly and changed the password back to the temporary one. I logged in immediately and changed it.

The Other Accounts

Ok. I thought. I got this shit handled now. My paycheck is in my new account, now I just need to switch all of my other crap over. How many fucking accounts do I have?!!!!

A lot is the answer. I decided to go through each account one by one. Many of them boast an easy linkup. Which…didn’t work. So I had to manually enter stuff in. No biggie. Now I have to wait for a test transfer of a dollar-ish to each of these accounts.

Ok, great I can do that. Now time to close my old account. I linked my new account to my old account. I could not find a way to transfer the remainder of my money to my new account. I called them. Surprisingly, someone answered! And they were super sweet!! And they told me I have pending transactions and so they can’t close my account until then… So now I am going to keep just depositing my paycheck into my new account, and when someone complains a transfer from my old account won’t work…I will transfer it to my new account.

Gah! Why did it have to be so difficult? What about you, have you switched accounts? Has it been this much of a pain in the ass?! Let us know in the comments.
